The pore size of RO membrane is 1/1,000,000 of a hair (filtration accuracy 0.0001 micron), generally human eyes cannot see it. Bacteria and germs are 5,000 times its size. Therefore, only water molecules and some healthful mineral ions can pass, and other impurities and metals will be discharged from waste water pipe. Seawater desalination and astronaut waste water recovery treatment use this method, so RO membrane is also called high-tech artificial kidney in vitro.
Water tank function:
1. RO purifier produces water very slowly with only 0.0001 micron filter pores. It has water storage tank which can ensure continuous water supply at power outage.
